When it comes to Investment Philosophy, we consider Warren Buffet and George Soros as our Gurus. We respect Warren Buffet for his wisdom on Value investment and margin of safety. These two aspects are key to our investment philosophy. We would like to enter into an investment where margin of safety is high. Therefore we believe that the best investment opportunities always lie in the extremes. Although it is very difficult to define what are extremes, but a combination of experience and judgement helps us to reach a conclusion of extreme situations.
We respect George Soros for his macro thinking and contrarian bets. We believe that it is very important to get the macro picture clear in your head to make convincing investment decisions. We also believe that timing is important. Therefore, we follow technical and liquidity analysis to understand momentum.
We are also a great believer of common sense when it comes to investment. We constantly look for change in trends in socio, political, cultural and economic aspects of a country. For example, one of the biggest revolution in India in the last ten years is the penetration of mobile phone which has changed lives. Companies involved in the business have benefitted a lot. We also believe in the human touch. We need to get a comfort level with the promoters in whose companies we are investing. There needs to be positive vibes about their strategy and vision.
